The Front Door Waterfall

We had a great time up in Oak Ridge this morning. Then a delicious lunch at Parrot Tree. All the more special when we asked for the check. The waiter said it was already paid. A guy we had been visiting with was asking what we did. We told him. And he bought our lunch without ever mentioning his plans to us. Coulda knocked me down with a small piece of lint!! The bartender was laughing his head off at our expressions.

Making my way through some of the flotsam.

Then we came home about 5:00 PM to water running out under the front door. What a mess!!! Glad our floors aren’t level. That way only about 80% of the place was flooded. It was deepest in our bedroom — maybe about a half inch. But a whole bunch of books and family pictures that were in boxes on the bedroom floor are probably going to get tossed in the trash. Double :-( !! We have stuff piled all over the house now. Looks like we had a boiler explosion. Mostly dried out now, though. I think I dumped about 50-60 gallons of water from our bedroom and bathroom out of the shop vac. Mildred, Bob, and Kay probably swept about 30 gallons out the front door from the front bedroom and the entry area.

And we thought we were coming home for Bob & me to pack to go to Utila in the morning. We got it pretty well dried out, so Mildred told us to go ahead with our plans. Glad for all tile floors, but almost all the rugs were soaked. Mildred and Kay will be drying and sorting tomorrow and probably for a few days more.. Pat said she would be happy to help.

Oh! The source of the water? The plastic line feeding filtered water to our tooth brushing faucet in our bathroom popped off.
