It’s hard to believe our vacation is almost over. There are still lots of people we wish we could have visited with, but we are grateful for those we did get to see. Tomorrow morning we go to the airport to head on over to Houston for a final couple of days with Mildred’s sister Cheryl and her husband Mark. Then we go back to the real world on Thursday.
We have been able to do some heavy duty, industrial loafing on this trip. At the end of our last vacation I was very sick and stayed that way for over a month. This time, I feel as rested as I’ve felt since our move to Roatán in 2007. Perhaps in my next entry I’ll have some pictures ready for you.
One thing that our extended leisure time permitted was the opportunity to write something I’ve wanted to write for a long time. I always thought I should have some sort of explanation of how and why a middle aged couple would give up a comfortable life in the U.S. to live and work in one of the poorest countries in the world. So, if you look over to the left side of this screen, you should see a link to a page titled “The Path to Gravel Bay.” It is a brief explanation of how God chose a very ordinary guy and his wife to be a part of an extraordinary ministry.
