Another record day

by Mildred on September 5, 2009

Jerry and I have been extremely busy this week just trying to keep up with all that needs to be done at the radio station. There’s a lot more work per person when there are only the two of us here!

We’ve been able to stay ahead of the voice tracking schedule and we’re looking forward to some help in that area from Karen Avella. Jim and Karen will arrive on Tuesday — hurray!!

Also since this was the first week of the month, all the financial and broadcast reports were due in at our mission’s home office near Tampa. It’s good to be able to send all the reports by email instead of snail mail.

This was the third Saturday in a row that the listeners helped me set a new record during the Request & Dedication program. On Saturday the program is one-and-a-half hours long compared to a one-hour program Monday through Friday.

Two weeks ago there were 101 dedications sent out and last week we topped it with 111. Today we had……drum roll please……118 dedications! That’s a lot of talking when each dedication is read both before and after the chosen song. It was a big week too with over 70 dedications on three days during the one-hour program.

So I thought I’d just let you know we are doing well. We are both looking forward to our time off on Sunday. Monday is not a holiday for us in Honduras, but we hope you enjoy your extra time off too.
