Well, so much for the trip to Utila this week. We’ve had a norther here. I mentioned last time that it was unusually cool here. The cool temperatures have continued (even cooler lately) along with continued rain. We just about hit 66 degrees this morning and yesterday, which is incredible for here. We even had a few days of what would be tropical storm force winds if they’d happened in the summer. The seas were spectacular on Sunday over on the other side of the island, but here in front of our house the water was flat as a pool table.
But, as you may have guessed, those towering seas shut down the ferry service between the islands and the mainland. What I saw over in West End looked like 20-30 foot waves. An islander friend told me today that he’d heard official reports of anywhere from 20-45 feet. I took a bunch of pictures Sunday afternoon and I’m planning to upload them here on Thursday. I put some of them on Facebook right away. It’s too late in the week now to head over to Utila unless it’s an emergency. Since Peter will be on vacation next week, I’ll need to wait till the week after next to try again.
So here is the HRGS Audio Update to fill you in a little more about what’s happening at Inspirational Radio.
