Audio Update – Week of May 18

by Jerry on May 18, 2009

Will Rogers, in his stage performances, used to specialize in rope tricks. Once, in the middle of his act, he got tangled up in his lariat. Instead of getting flustered, he just drawled, “A rope ain’t so bad to get tangled up in if it ain’t around your neck.” The audience loved that so much that he began to put humorous comments in all his shows and, as you know, became much more famous for his wit than for his rope tricks.

You’ll hear in this week’s update that we have a plan to fix our pesky audio dropouts. Well, I tried to execute that plan today and nearly hanged myself – figuratively speaking, that is. What should have been about a 45 minute chore turned into a 5 hour test of my patience. I eventually got us back on the air, but the directions from the equipment manufacturer were highly misleading and for a while I thought we were in big trouble. Then I remembered that God was still in control and even though things were going in a shockingly different direction than what we wanted, God still had it all under control. I never did feel like it was a funny situation but at least I stopped calling the computer nasty names.
