Double-dose of Media

Things are piling up here. I finally got around to converting the latest HRGS Update to MP3 and putting it up here. You’ll find it over there in the right sidebar.

And, as you can see below (after you click the “read more” link”) I have a new picture gallery. When our friends came down here from Tampa to help with our projects, Bob mentioned that there was a lot more poverty than what he had expected based on the balance of pictures I post here on the Gazette. Well, there are a couple reasons for that. For one thing, I feel a little self-conscious taking pictures of people’s houses. For another thing, it’s the beauty here that really catches my eye. So, one day last week, when our truck was getting washed in town, I took a walk with my little “point-and-shoot” camera. That’s where all but four of these pictures came from. Two of them are from the neighboring island of Utila and two others are from our temporary assignment from 2001-3. In fact, our son, Jesse, took the one of Constellation Bight when he came here for a visit. If you read the captions, I think they will give you anything else you need to know about them. So, Bob, I hope these will illustrate what you’re talking about when you try to describe what it’s like here. After all, considering all the help you were to us the week you were here, it’s the least I can do.

By the way, we had an attempted break-in up on Dixon Hill the other night. They got over the wall but could not get into the generator building. At our present rate, we expect to have the razor wire and electric fence installed and operating early next week. That will help, but we still need to get the security system down here and get it installed. So thanks again for praying. It is really helping.
