The Prophet’s Chamber

Prophet's Chamber Sign

We had another full day yesterday. The  morning was pretty relaxed; Mildred and I took our hostess, Beth Reed, to pick up her car at the shop and did a little shopping. Then  we had to get back to work. We went to the Bible Basics offices and had lunch with the board of directors and then updated them on life at Radio HRGS. They seemed to think that the short video of listener interviews was pretty powerful. I can’t wait to show it here on our blog, but I don’t want to let it out before we’ve shown it in the churches.

One person at the meeting (and not the first person by a long shot) asked us to describe a typical day at HRGS. I’m always at a little bit of a loss for words (hard to believe, isn’t it) when people ask that. You see, there is no such thing as a typical day. We wake up with plans and goals for the day and usually go back to bed that night with most of them unmet due to all the surprises Roatán throws our way nearly every day. Life at HRGS is a series of interruptions. Being a task oriented person, I frequently have to remind myself that Jesus’ ministry consisted mostly of interruptions.

After the board meeting,  we came back here to The Prophet’s Chamber and I started work on Mildred’s new smart phone. It came with Windows Mobile 5.0 and needed an upgrade to 6.0. I was flabbergasted at how long that took!

Afterward, we had our first meal at Arby’s of this trip for the roast beef sandwiches we’ve been missing in Roatán, and then went to see our friends Doug and Andrea Cress. We got to share some of Doug’s birthday cake left from the day before – yumm!

We keep talking about the Prophet’s Chamber and what a great place it is. I’ve been wanting to show you some pictures, but it’s been raining non-stop for the past several days. This morning the skies cleared and I took a little tour. What a beautiful, restful place. Notice, though, how much rain we’ve had. The dock is almost a foot beneath the lake’s surface!

I thought a good first trial for our new little video camera would be a tour of our temporary home. Here you go.

I enjoyed catching up. Get some R and R. Maybe your days there in the US can end with your To do list items being checked off.:) I had another “Roatan” day on Thursday.

Praying for your big day at church. I know it will be super special.

Love and prayers,
Emily

Thanks Emily! Sorry about your Roatan day. I hope the BBI Day at Oakwood is a success. ;-) We are sure excited about it. I can’t believe the effort that’s gone into it from a lot of people.
